Green Thumbs

We've all heard the term "green thumb." If you haven't, it means that you are someone who has a knack for keeping plants alive. Having a green thumb does not make you superior, it's just a skill that you have.

Maybe, if you're like me, your green thumb is only for certain things--mine is houseplants. Ask me to grow something outside, it's going to die, but I can grow a snake plant to the ceiling.

Maybe, your green thumb (again, yours truly) came over time. I am convinced my mama gave me her green thumb when she passed away because I could grow exactly nothing previously.

Maybe, you have a green thumb, but you do not need ANOTHER thing to take care of, so you opt out.

Maybe your green thumb isn't a green thumb at all, but you are an amazing cook. Maybe you can sing with the finest sopranos in the world. Maybe you give the best hugs. Maybe you can tie a cherry stem in a knot with your tongue.

It's not the green thumb that matters, it's that you recognize your strengths. Even more than your strengths, you need to lean into what you really want. Working to align our lives with our strengths & desires leads to life being easier. Walking through life when everything feels like an itchy sweater is not something you have to suffer.

To Green Thumbs & Sunshine,

Laura
